Remake
group exhibition, Pepper Street Arts Centre
City of Burnside

30 July – 25 Aug

REMAKE celebrates the inventiveness and resourcefulness of the creative and artistic mind.

This high quality exhibition brings to life the phrase ‘everything old is new again’. Working within the theme of recycling, upcycling, reusing, and repurposing, over 40 artists have viewed the world around them with fresh eyes and created exciting new works of art.

This exhibition encourages us to consider our impact on the environment by bringing a little creativity into how we can prevent everyday items from being sent to landfill. There is a diverse and eclectic collection of work including a vast array of jewellery, wall art, sculpture, glass and textiles – plenty to enjoy when visiting. Some artists have worked from within their preferred specialist mediums, while others have moved into previously unexplored areas.

This show helps to highlight the importance of environmental conservation and sustainability.

Flower, Fruit, and Flood, My Dear,
group exhibition, Part of Things
Barmera, Riverland SA

4 – 27 Aug

Experiments and discoveries from a disparate collection of storytellers, crafters, dreamers and creators.

This is the fourth SALA exhibition at Part of Things, and the theme is inspired by the traditional four year anniversary gift of flowers or fruits, combined with our recent Riverland experience of flooding. The theme is a provocation and should not be taken literally or used prescriptively when viewing the works.

Each of the participating artists have creatively responded to the theme by thinking beyond the obvious and exploring their own practice, the ethos of Part of Things, and what the theme provocation has unexpectedly unlocked.

The exhibition features a mix of entirely new works and some previously completed and/or reimagined works. Artists in the exhibition come from Adelaide, the Riverland, Whyalla and Port Lincoln.
